We were raised on a small dairy farm in the plains of east central Iowa. We naturally inherited our families love for the land and animals. At a young age we were given the opportunity to work with the livestock and to make genetic decisions. The result of this helped our registered Holsteins to be competitive at the state and International levels. I know this site is about our dogs, but being given the opportunity to see the difference good genetic decisions and proven bloodlines make has helped us with our success. Being raised in a Christian family in the Midwest has taught us to always help others to appreciate everything you been given and that your word is your bond. A hand shake is a greeting as well as a contract.
After high school Rod stayed home to help Dad on the farm while Steve went to college to pursue a dairy degree. During college Steve worked on a large dairy were his main jobs were genetic selection and milking. In college was Steve's first encounter with a Weimaraner. "I met some new friends that belonged to a local coonhound club and I got involved. At a night hunt I saw my first Weim doing a water test. I was familiar with the breed but had never seen one. I went along competing with my walkers until my dad was ready to retire. Then I came home and Rod and I started farming together. After a year of long days I realized I was too tired to go running around in the woods at night and our interest swung back over to bird hunting then competitive trials where I met my first Vizsla. So this chapter of our life began." Our families are involved with church, AKC events, and 4-H. Steve and Rod both enjoy watching and helping the kids on the farm and watching them in all of their events.
